Liberated Conversations: Supporting Clients of Color in Talking About Sex and Intimacy

Many therapists were taught to tiptoe around conversations about sex, intimacy, and desire, especially when working with clients of color. But our clients deserve more than avoidance. They deserve affirming spaces where their needs, identities, and longings can be named and explored with care.

This virtual workshop is designed for clinicians who want to deepen their capacity to engage in honest, nuanced, and culturally-attuned conversations around sex and relationships. Together, we’ll explore the ways systems of oppression, including racism, colonization, and heteronormativity, shape the narratives our clients carry about their bodies, their desires, and their worth.

Through reflection, practice, and shared learning, participants will leave with:

• Frameworks for integrating anti-oppressive and sex-positive care
