Our Therapeutic Approach and Perspectives

Keanu’s therapeutic approach is rooted in a holistic, person-centered philosophy that honors each client’s inner world, cultural context, and lived experience. As a queer Black therapist and sex therapist based in New York City, Keanu creates a trauma-informed, collaborative space where clients—particularly queer, trans, and BIPOC individuals—can explore intimacy, identity, and the parts of themselves that have long been silenced or neglected.

Using a foundation of Internal Family Systems (IFS), anti-oppressive care, and relational attunement, Keanu supports clients in slowing down, confronting internalized urgency, and reconnecting with their voice. Therapy becomes a space for honest reflection, embodied healing, and narrative reclamation.

Keanu believes that every person holds wisdom and resilience within. His practice centers community, acknowledging how systems of oppression—including white supremacy, colonization, and heteropatriarchy—shape emotional life, relationship patterns, and access to care. His work supports clients in moving toward self-trust, emotional safety, and a deeper sense of autonomy.

With Keanu, therapy is more than symptom relief—it’s an invitation to return to yourself. Clients often describe the work as expansive, grounding, and liberatory—opening doors to more authentic connection within themselves and their communities.

Resurgence: A Sex Liberation Group for Men of Color

Resurgence: A Sex Liberation Group for Men of Color is an 8-week virtual support and exploration group designed to help men of color reconnect with their sexuality in an affirming, sex-positive, and judgment-free space. Facilitated by Keanu M. Jackson, LCSW, this intimate group offers a space for healing, reflection, and redefinition—centering the voices and experiences of Black and Brown men across the spectrum of gender expression and sexual identity.

Together, we’ll unpack harmful cultural and societal narratives, confront shame and internalized stigma, and explore how systems like white supremacy and patriarchy have shaped our relationships to desire, pleasure, and intimacy. This is a space to be seen, held, and challenged—with care.

Through open dialogue, guided reflection, and intentional community, participants will cultivate greater self-awareness, embodied confidence, and a deeper sense of agency in their journey toward liberated sexuality and emotional intimacy.
